CPTED is deeply rooted in human nature. We build spaces to live and relate to people. Cities are the main cultural and spatial expression of modern societies – they represent our present and our future. And it is in cities where we look for work, relationships, establish our homes and raise our children. When cities or neighborhoods fail, or when they struggle with problems like crime, we all suffer the consequences, now and in the future.
From technology to design, from planning to participation, from urban legislation to mobility, from policing to diversity, we must prevent our cities from dividing into isolated territories, into irreconcilable differences, into tribes that do not relate to each other and that do not recognize each other and transform them into healthy and diverse environments.
This is the context of CPTED and this topics fill the agenda of the up-coming conference of the International CPTED Organisation.
The conference will take place on 30th and 31th of October in Sao Paulo, Brasil.
