International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC)

The International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC) was founded in 1994 and is the sole international organization dedicated exclusively to crime prevention and community safety.
ICPC’s mission is to promote safer societies through the promotion and implementation of strategic and evidence-led programmes and initiatives which aim to reduce and prevent offending and victimization and to support international norms and standards (UN Guidelines on the prevention of crime 1995 and 2002).
ICPC aims to achieve this mission in four main ways by:
Consolidating global knowledge and monitoring international trends on delinquency, crime and prevention;
Producing knowledge through the development of tools and comparative analysis of specific issues, and the publication of a bi-annual International Report on crime prevention trends and perspectives;
Promoting the exchange of information through the organization of international colloquiums, conferences, seminars, facilitated workshops and expert meetings;
Providing technical assistance in the field, and monitoring of and consultation for various projects.
ICPC’s members include a range of national, provincial and local governments from across the world, as well as a wide variety of organizations working with issues of crime prevention and community safety.
The German Congress on Crime Prevention is member of ICPC.
