Actors involved in the management of public spaces are as diverse as their competences and the risks and threats likely to impact public spaces. Local authorities often struggle to train and coordinate them when it comes to anticipating, preventing and mitigating risks and threats. These different stakeholders must be efficiently involved in managing public spaces and in promoting a shared culture on security issues. This implies increasing their competences and strengthening co-production mechanisms.

The Secu4All project promotes a comprehensive approach to this challenge, by taking into account physical protection and prevention measures, but also citizens’ feelings of security and social cohesion. This contributes to addressing threats ranging from minor and major crimes to nuisances and incivilities. This session presents the results of the Secu4All project, with partners and local elected officials sharing their views about how the project contributed to respond to their training needs.
