Adam Mickiewicz University Faculty of Educational Studies

Abstract:
Readiness for treatment is a key component of successful social rehabilitation among offenders. In the literature there is more than one model of readiness for change and/or treatment. When working with offenders we should ask ourselves for what we would like to prepare them, what kind of change do we expect. SFBT is one of these approaches which gives counselor opportunity to examine offender's perspectives, and to verify counselor ideas about what should be changed. The main goal of this poster is to present actual perspectives of readiness for change models and to look closer how SFBT can develope readiness among offenders, how using situational model of SFBT can modify "putting right syndrom"/"repering syndrom" which is typical for social rehablitation counselors.
