Americans’ Views on Generative Artificial Intelligence, Hate and Harassment 

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) has dominated news headlines for its potential to transform how we work, write, and play. To learn more about the public’s view of GAI, we conducted a survey of over 1,000 Americans that asked about their views of its potential benefits, possible harms, and options for interventions. These results bolster the need for the public to ask tough questions now to ensure that GAI is developed with user safety at its core.
