Does burglary protection only start at the front door? (Michael Dormann and Dr.-Ing. Sandra Zenk, Hessian State Office of Criminal Investigation)
"My home is my castle!" For many people, their home is a place of retreat where they feel safe. For this reason, they have secured their residential property with technical measures against burglary. This is not a modern phenomenon. Centuries ago, people were already trying to use products such as bars on windows or locks to provide security. Today, burglar-resistant doors and windows, retrofit products or surveillance technology are part of a well-secured property. But does burglary protection only start at the front door or is it possible to consider burglary protection on a larger scale?

Prevention of digital violence through peers (Birgit Thinnes, Minden-Lübbecke District Police Department)
Digital violence among young people is a phenomenon that can no longer be ignored and can have a harmful effect on the health of those affected. At school, they have to deal with photos, videos and corresponding comments uploaded on the Internet. The physical and psychological consequences of cyberbullying and other digital attacks range from anger, despair, and psychosomatic complaints such as headaches and stomachaches to depression and suicidal thoughts.

The "Cyberscouts" peer project at secondary schools in the Minden-Lübbecke district works preventively on appropriate behavior on the Internet. Older students are trained as media advisors by a network of experts. As part of peer education, they pass on their knowledge to fellow students. The lecture shows the possibilities and chances as well as the limits of the peer approach.

Register and get access to the live-streamed DPT-TV lectures every week. Once registered you can watch all recorded lectures whenever it suits you best.

The registration gives you access to the online DPT-TV from April till November this year and serves as the ticket for our in-situ congress in Hannover, Germany, on October 4th & 5th.
