Counter-Terrorism Agenda for the EU: Anticipate, Prevent, Protect, Respond
The European Union is a unique area of freedom, security and justice, where every person must be able to trust that their freedom and security are guaranteed and well protected. Democracy, rule of law, respect for fundamental rights in particular the right to privacy, freedom of expression, freedom of religion and the respect for diversity are the foundation of the Union.
The European Commission adopted recently a Counter-Terrorism Agenda for the EU. In the face of recurring terrorist attacks across Europe, the Security Union must be reinforced by a resolute action at EU level to fight terrorism and serious crime.
