Dating Matters: Prevention of Teen Dating Violence and Other Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

Teen dating violence is an adverse childhood experience (ACE) that affects millions of young people in the United States. CDC developed Dating Matters: Strategies to Promote Healthy Teen Relationships to protect teens from dating violence and give them skills to foster healthy, respectful relationships. Although Dating Matters focuses on the primary prevention of teen dating violence, results from publications in this Special Section of Prevention Science demonstrate that it addresses other ACEs associated with interpersonal violence and risk behaviors among middle schoolers.
