UNESCO and UNITAR launch "Combating the Disinfodemic" mobile e-learning course
COVID-19 has led to a parallel pandemic of disinformation that directly impacts lives and livelihoods around the world. Falsehoods and misinformation have proven deadly and sowed confusion about life-saving personal and policy choices.
A new tool launched by UNESCO and UNITAR offers a fun way to test your level of literacy about the scourge of disinformation – and enable you to learn more about how society is responding to the problem.
Designed around interactive micro-learning lessons that can be completed in 5-10 minutes each, learners will explore the 9 types of coronavirus disinformation, the four format modes, and the 10 categories of responses being mobilised to address the disinfodemic. It also provides a range of options for action for organizations and individuals.
