Conference: Crime and Punishment

The Institute of Criminology of Heidelberg University and the Faculty of Applied Psychology – Legal Psychology of SRH Hochschule Heidelberg, cooperating with Polotsk State University, Republic of Belarus, will host the international conference “Crime and Punishment", from March 4th to 6th, 2020 in Heidelberg, Germany.

The conference’s main goal is to connect the highly separated spheres of criminological research in Eastern and Western Europe by providing insights into research culture, research projects and their results. Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity for academic networking beyond the usual geographical scope. The conference focuses on seven topics. Each topic will be discussed by speakers from Eastern and Western Europe. Forseen topcis are:

1.    Victimization within Families and Partnerships
2.    Sexual Abuse in the Catholic Church
3.    Cybercrime
4.    Expert Witness Testimony
5.    Human Rights
6.    Sanctions and Measures
7.    Effects of Punishment

Young researchers are invited to participate in a poster session that will take place at the conference location. Please apply by sending a preliminary title of your poster and a short summary to crime.punishment@krimi.uni-heidelberg.de until December 15th, 2019.
