Webinar: How to work collaboratively across systems to prevent child abuse and neglect

More news about the topic

Some say it takes a village to raise a child. It also takes a village to protect a child who has been abused and to prevent the next generation of abuse and neglect. As child advocates, it is imperative to know we have support from other organizations that serve children outside our own systems of care. Dr. Cerulli will present a webinar on models of practice that cross the silos of law, medicine, social services, and education. She will explore how system change approaches and medical-law partnerships can be utilized to provide protection orders behind hospital walls. Dr. Cerulli will close the session with a vignette of a family in crisis and helpful examples of interdisciplinary case conferencing.

The Problem
Every year millions of children in the US suffer from child abuse. Efforts to break the intergenerational cycles of child abuse can only succeed when science translates into effective interventions - but many child-serving systems remain isolated from each other.

The Solution
Bridge together a broad group of practitioners, policymakers, researchers, investigators, clinicians, lawyers, and other professionals committed to preventing and addressing child abuse, sharing knowledge, and transforming how we service children.
