Cities Beyond Growth

What does a post-growth city actually look like — and how do you teach people to build one?  This Education handbook shares the experience of Cities Beyond Growth, a transnational educational programme led by TNI with five European partner organisations and support from the EU's Erasmus+ programme. The Cities Beyond Growth Handbook and new Policy Primer bring together lessons from cities across Europe and practical approaches to building more democratic, caring and sustainable urban economies — from housing, energy and food to mobility and digital technology

Drawing on work with more than 1,000 participants across Europe and beyond, the handbook lays out a post-growth conceptual framework for cities, the methodology behind a general online course, and six city-specific modules developed with local partners. Whether you're an educator, policymaker, or community organiser, it's a practical resource for understanding and replicating this approach to post-growth urban transition in your own context.
