EUCPN-ENAA webinar: preventing youth recruitment - examples of multi-agency cooperation

Youth recruitment into organised crime is a complex issue shaped by interconnected risk factors at the individual, family and community levels. Tackling it therefore requires a comprehensive and multi-faceted approach. Effective prevention goes beyond disrupting recruitment pathways; it must also provide meaningful and legitimate alternatives that foster belonging, identity and purpose.

This webinar will highlight two European good practices, both of which will feature in the upcoming EUCPN-ENAA toolkit on organised crime, to be published later this year.

• Social Intervention Groups (Sweden): Developed to support young people at high risk of offending in distancing themselves from criminal lifestyles. The initiative is based on close cooperation between social services, the police and schools.
• Anchor Project (Finland): Focuses on early intervention in cases of juvenile delinquency and intimate partner violence, as well as preventive work in these areas. The model relies on multi-agency cooperation between different public authorities.
