Australian Hate Crimes Database

The Australian National Hate Crimes Database (NHCD) is a statistical resource maintained by the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC). It collects, records and publishes data on hate‑motivated offences (both crimes and incidents) that have been charged in Australian courts . It aggregates data from police and court records across all Australian states and territories, providing a consistent, comparable picture of hate‑motivated offending. 

It’s aiming at tracking trends in hate‑motivated crime over time, informing policy‑making, law‑enforcement strategies and community‑safety initiatives, and supporting research and public‑awareness about the prevalence and nature of hate‑related offences. 

The database is publicly accessible via the AIC website; users can browse tables, download datasets, and view methodological notes that explain how data are collected and classified .
