Main congress topic
In addition to all other topics in the broad field of violence and crime prevention, the main topic of each German Prevention Congress reflects a topic and challenge that is currently crucial for the field of prevention.
The 31st German Prevention Congress invites participants to take a comprehensive and forward-looking view at the topic of ‘Artificial Intelligence in Prevention’. The focus is on key questions:
- What challenges does AI pose in the context of crime and security, but also in terms of social interaction in the society?
- What profound changes are associated with its use – and who is affected by them and in what way?
At the same time, the focus is forward-looking:
- How can AI be used in a targeted and responsible manner for prevention work?
This is not only about technological potential, but also about the ethical and practical question of how AI can be used consciously and reflectively in prevention.
In the run-up to the congress, an accompanying scientific publication will be produced, in which the main topic will be examined from various scientific perspectives. This will be summarised in a short video. Prof. Dr Gina Rosa Wollinger coordinates and prepares the scientific back-drop of the main topic for the congress. The accompanying publication and video will be published here on the website in spring 2026.
