Abstract:
1) INTERPOL’s Strategic Crisis Management Framework: How does the organization deal with crises situations with potential impact on its business continuity? Themes include, inter alia, overarching goals, guiding principles, typology of crises, workflow, crisis management phases (pre, during, post), structure, role and responsibilities of Crisis Management Team.

2) INTERPOL’s services to member countries: How does the organization provide support to member countries in case of need?
- IRT (responsive) – field component to support a member country during a crisis situation (major criminal / terrorist incident, natural or man-made disaster).
- IMEST (preventive) – field component to support a member country in preventing criminal / terrorist incidents ahead of a major event (international conference, sporting event).
- INTERPOL’s notices system as a pre-during-after crisis tool.

Mr. Sultan Bin Sumaida is an Emerati police officer who started his career as Special Forces officer at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ seventeen years ago. In his early career, he decided to improve his qualifications by having his Bachelor Degree in LEA (Langues Étrangères Appliquées), Université Paris Sorbonne. Followed by Master Degree in Diplomacy (American University in the Emirates), as well as Master in Public Policy (MBRSG).
During his career at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, Mr Sultan Bin Sumaida occupied several leadership positions such as: Head of Drugs Department, Head of Internationally Wanted Section in the Criminal Investigation Department, Director of the Call Centre of His Highness the Minister of Interior, Head of the International Coordination Office, and Director of Security Information Directorate.

Since 27 September 2021, he is Assistant Director of the Command and Coordination Centre at INTERPOL, where his main roles as the INTERPOL’s first responder to Member Countries and Specialized Units, in Crisis Management, are Issuance of urgent Notices, deployment of Interpol Major Events and Support Team (IMEST) and Incident Response Team (IRT), as well as many other managerial and operational duties.
