Conference: Prevention of Violence and Extremism

More news about the topic

How to reduce the impact of extremist ideology? Which prevention measures are effective and how it is possible to measure their impacts? International experts exchange their findings in the field of science and practice and want to find responds for the raised questions at the international conference „Prevention of Violence and Extremism (PV&E)“ in Eschborn.

Crime Prevention is a broad field ranging from violence against elderly people and children, gender-based violence, petty crime only to name some of the topics. But the prevention of radicalization and violent extremism ranks currently high on the international political and social agenda. Even so, it should be noted that our understanding about the impact of preventive programs and measures is still limited. The conference wants to promote the exchange of international and interdisciplinary knowledge.

During the two-day conference participants are encouraged to present and discuss innovative and promising approaches, methods and findings and to extend their networks and competencies for countering violence and extremism. The conference is hosted and organised by GIZ and the German Congress on Crime Prevention.

The conference takes place on November 8.-9., 2018 at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (Dag-Hammarskjöld-Weg 1, 65760 Eschborn, Germany (nearby Frankfurt)).
