UNODC launches counter-extremism network for the Central Asia region

More news about the topic

The Central Asian Network for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism is now live at www.capve.org/en/. Designed by UNODC's Terrorism Prevention Branch and Regional Office for Central Asia, the website serves as a resource tool for policymakers and professionals working against violent extremism. The site is hosted by the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is also available in Russian.

The website consolidates a wealth of knowledge on preventing and countering violent extremism practices and aims to increase cooperation between government representatives, civil society groups, academia, international experts, and United Nations entities.

Users can find resources to understand current approaches and good practices for preventing crimes associated with radicalization, incitement, and recruitment of individuals for terrorist purposes. These resources are organized in a searchable e-library containing United Nations documents, training modules, regional instruments, and third-party research. The website features an events calendar highlighting ongoing projects in the region, as well as methods to contact focal points within the governments of the Central Asian countries.

The website will continue to be updated with relevant materials, event details, and links.
