Kenya Reports Significant Progress in Prevention of Violence against Children and Youth

More news about the topic

Kenya implemented the Violence Against Children Survey (VACS) in 2010, and released its report and action plan in November 2012. In addition to the standard VACS questions, Kenya included tailored questions to see whether violence occurred as a result of the national elections in 2008 and added additional questions on child vulnerability.

In 2014, the Government of Kenya and the Together for Girls partnership released the first Violence Against Children Survey public use dataset.

In 2019, the Government of Kenya, with support from partners, conducted a second VACS survey to measure progress made since the 2010 VACS and identify emerging trends in violence against children. In 2020, the Government of Kenya launched the Violence Against Children Survey report.
